Rachel Maddow exclusively obtained documents from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that further undermine the Trump administration’s rationale for the travel ban. The previous document featured on this blog only referenced a memo from DHS. The new document is a collaboration between the following agencies: (page 2)

4. National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC)
5. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
The title is different: Most Foreign-born, US-based Violent Extremists Radicalized after Entering Homeland.
One of the key findings is:
We assess that most foreign-born, US-based violent extremists likely radicalized several years after their entry to the United States, limiting the ability of screening and vetting officials to prevent their entry because of national security concerns. (pg. 2)
This finding means that Trump’s “extreme vetting” is of little utility in weeding out terrorists.
